Come by the studios and view the latest window display by local textile and paper artist Marcella Volini. We'll have live music, beer and food in the backyard.

Marcella Volini, a native of Chicago, Illinois received a BFA in General Fine Arts at the Maryland Institute College of Art. While enrolled, Marcella was involved in numerous curated and juried exhibitions. Marcella is a sculptor, well versed in the in processes of hand paper-making and textile. She combines an aged folk aesthetic with autobiographical themes.

In May of 2012 Marcella exhibited her thesis show, debuting a performance at ArtWalk in the Decker Gallery. The performance piece was in conjunction with her installation I Grew Up In Spite Of You. Marcella sang a lullaby and methodicly tied knots- building a net of hand-spun yarn that by the end of the performance, surrounded the floor around the piece.

Marcella has been fueling her mind through travel; collecting, photographing, writing and being ever inspired by volunteerinwith the Mayan artisans at Oxlajuj B’atz. Since then Marcella has been growing her company Little Fox Tribe. Little Fox Tribe is a company that works toward sustainability in the small indigenous communities that she works on product development within. Little Fox tribe offers handmade textiles ranging from homegoods to clothing to unisex shoes and accessories. She looks forward to exhibiting to an audience interested in engaging with her work, which features a tactile and truly honest form of self-expression.
